Unfortunately roof maintenance is not something that most homeowners think about and oftentimes, won't realise there are damaged roofs until it becomes more obvious.

If you suspect your roof is damaged, we will go up, inspect the area and start by clearing away any debris, branches or objects that could be blocking water flow. 

If it is a tiled roof, then broken tiles will likely be an issue and will either need to be replaced or at least be siliconed so that it holds until replacement tiles are provided. We also like to use a material called Red Sika, which is a water proof membrane that adds an extra layer of water resistance. Without adequate flashing, the exposed area will be vulnerable to water gaps.

Metal roofs are generally very low maintenance but exposure to heavy winds, hail, storms or heavy objects can cause significant damage to them. Sometimes the issue might be missing or broken screws which have loosened the seams of the panels. This makes the panels susceptible of being lifted or even blown away in windy conditions. Other times we have seen hail or tree branches causing dents on the panels. When this occurs, it damages the metal casing and can lead to corrosion. Because metal roofs are made from either zinc, copper, aluminium or steel mixtures, they are prone to rust and decay. If these are not repaired, then holes will develop.
